No other mat in the industry traps water and dirt so effectively. WaterHog mats are constructed of rubber reinforced face nubs and the "diamond" design provides crush proof scraping action. The border for WaterHog Fashion features the same 100 percent polypropylene fiber system as the mat surface. Premium 24 oz/sq anti-static Polypropylene fiber system dries quickly and won't fade or rot. When wet, the rubber reinforce surface allows water to be wicked to the bottom of the mat away from foot traffic while providing a slip resistant surface. Polypropylene fiber system dries quickly and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Colorfast: Solution dyed for excellent light and we fastness. Unique ridged construction effectively stores dirt and moisture beneath shoe level. Exclusive "Water Dam" border keeps dirt and water in the mat and off the floor, minimizing slip hazards and floor damage. Green friendly rubber backing has 20 percent recycled rubber content. Exclusive rubber reinforced face nubs prevent pile from crushing in high traffic areas, thereby maintaining high performance and extending product life. Should not be used in areas exposed to animal fats (kitchens) or petroleum products. Not adversely affected by salt or ice melt. Certified slip-resistant by the National Floor Safety Institute. Recommended uses computer rooms, around electronic equipment, malls, banks, hotels, offices, restaurants, healthcare, supermarkets and more. Easy to clean: Just vacuum or hose off and hang to dry. 1/4" Nub height. Square "waffle" design. 100 percent SBR Rubber backing. Thickness: 0.190" - Nubs; 0.050" - Between Nubs; 0.110" - Border. Testing: Passes Flammability Standard DOC-FF-1-70; Anti-Static maximum average voltage of 1.6 KV as measured by the AATCC 134 Electrostatic Propensity Test and meets IBM’s minimum standard for electrical resistance (NFPA99). ASTM C 1028-29 Static Coefficient of Friction. Dry .70. Orange color. Measures 6' length by 3' width.
STOPS DIRT AT THE DOOR – Bi-level surface effectively scrapes dirt and moisture from shoes, trapping it beneath shoe level to prevent tracking; water dam border holds moisture keeping it off your floors (WaterHog mats can hold up to 1.5 gallons of water per square yard)
FADE & STAIN RESISTANT - Solution-dyed PET fabric (24 oz/square yard) is resistant to staining, dries quickly, and will not fade or rot
ECO-FRIENDLY - PET fabric is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic from drink bottles, and SBR rubber backing contains 20% recycled rubber from car tires
DURABLE & SAFE – Reinforced rubber nubs prevent pile from crushing and extends the performance life of the mat. Beveled edges provide a safe transition from floor to mat; certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI)
MADE IN USA – Please note, mat sizes are approximate as rubber shrinks and expands in conjunction with temperature and time. Tolerable manufacturing size variance is 3-5%. All WaterHog mats are Prop 65 compliant.
I got this mat for the bathroom because the kids walk out of the bathtub onto the shower mat and it's in a persistent state of dampness; causing bath tiles to loosen up. The rubber bottom should alleviate future water damage. The carpet part was soft, unlike the typical outdoor mat textures. I also like the design pattern too. Nice investment piece for a busy bathroom!I use the same style of mat for my home entrances and under the dog's and cat's food and water bowls. I've vacuumed and hose sprayed these mats multiple times, and they still work and look great.Perfect in front entry way, easy to clean.I have used and purchased commercial waterhog mats previously and been happy. This one is definitely residential grade.. about 60% less thick.. It's OK, it's just not what I thought I was ordering, which MIGHT be entirely on me...I was having to clean up the entrance area to both the kitchen and our studio, sometimes twice a day. This rug was an essential part of a three part solution for both entrances. It's pricy but that's because it's beefy and well engineered to do what it claims to do and yet looks good. It feels good to walk on it too, and if you wipe your feet (shoes) on it, you can tell you're depositing what remains of any dripping water (if it's raining outside), and loose dirt and grit, (if you live in a rural farm area where there is plenty of dirt around if you walk around to do chores, out past the manicured areas like I do).You need to vacuum it regularly, to remove the loose dirt, but it beats getting loose dirt and grit tracked in all over the house where it turns into fine dust that settles on everything else in the house. I noticed a huge difference right away. I still need to vacuum regularly, but not every day. The amount of dirt and debris carried inside is greatly reduced. For the other two parts of my solution to my problem, I also bought some Durable Durite Recycled Tire Link mats for outside, so water and larger debris can drop off and fall below the surface of the tire material links. That helped a lot too.And for when we have clumped on mud stuck on our shoes, I got the heavy duty commercial grade Carlisle Boot and Shoe brush/scraper. It is built for heavy duty use, and to last. I regret that I didn't know about commercial grade solutions and products that would work great for my housekeeping problem at home, until recently, while researching new flooring options. It was by accident and serendipitous. I am waiting a while before I take another plunge and buy the another set of this rug combined with another tire link mat for our front door. These products will be last for years and years, and are worth the investment. This is our fourth waterhog mat from M+A Matting (all three others still being used!), and I’m always pleased with everything about them! Our floors are dark, and previously I ordered the light grey mat they had, which still looks and works great in another area of our house several years after purchasing… so this time I wanted to risk it and try getting the white. And I’m really glad I did! It looks so nice against the dark floors, and it’s actually got grey fibers within it (see photos) which I’m sure will help make dirt less obvious, and it matches even better with our home. The white is kind of a “dulled” white, almost maybe just slightly off-white. Even when dirty, these are SUPER easy to clean. Throw them out on the back deck, spray down with the hose, scrub with some soap, rinse, and hang over the fence to dry. Usually dry by the next day. These mats DO run 1-2” short on each side, but I expected that, having ordered several others in the past with the same result. So the 3’x5’ I ordered is actually only 58”x35”. So if you’re looking into these mats, keep that in mind when measuring! The thing I like most about this mat is that it stays put, not having to live with that minor annoyance of constantly moving the old mat back into place is well worth the price of this one. Takes a little longer to vacuum due to how deep the ridges are, but it still fits under the door just fine and I definitely wouldn't classify this as hard to clean.Yes, it is a little pricy, but we live in Western NY where it snows and rains a lot, and this mat has doe the job. It is quite absorbent and the backing is nice and thick so the moisture does not seep through to the floor beneath!I have been looking for a larger porch rug for a very long time. This rug is perfect! We'll see how it handles Canadian weather but so far it seems good quality. It needs 2-3 days to air out and then it is fine. Definitely would recommend! It’s a carpet, works and lays flat, soft on feet, holds a lot of dirt
